A look at history

The actual course of the game does not have any major pauses, which is why all players have to be extremely focused and willing to perform. Switching between different types of strokes is what makes badminton so appealing for many: Fints and hard attack balls are equally part of the game.

The first German badminton club was founded at the beginning of the 20th century. Since the sport was not well known at that time, its spread was slowed down by a lack of equipment. In the middle of the 20th century, the DBV (German Badminton Association) was founded as part of the first German badminton championships. The connection to the IBF (International Badminton Federation) was not long in coming.

Basic tips

When learning and playing badminton, there are a few points to consider. The stick position is the first important one, because it has to be firmly in the hand. Too loose a grip makes the necessary control impossible.

When striking, it is important not only to use your forearm to get the swing you need. The corresponding movement must come from the entire arm. The club is held at a slight angle and turned towards the head when striking.
