1. Hello Bilal. How did you get into fitness sport and since when have you been doing targeted fitness and strength training to get your body in optimal shape?

Hello Benjamin, after a serious knee injury at the beginning of 2009 I was forced to hang up my football boots, so I looked for a sporty alternative to keep myself fit. I didn't have a lot of options because I could hardly walk, so I kept looking. In mid-2009 my colleague at the time took me to the gym for the first time, and since then it has become my second home.

2. When did you get the idea to become a fitness athlete and what was your first step in this direction?

I've always wanted to get on stage, get the maximum out of it, push my body to the limit. At the beginning of 2015 I got an inquiry whether I would like to take part in the GNBF 2016 next year.

3. Do you have a role model or mentor who helped you on your way to becoming a fitness athlete?

Definitely in the first place, Arnold Schwarzenegger. I don't need to report about him, most of them know him and his story. In the Men's Physique class, in which I will also start next year, Sadik Hadzovic is currently the non ultra. I was lucky enough to be able to train with him last year. A likeable personality with inhuman genetics and muscle quality.

4. What are your greatest successes as a fitness athlete so far?

My greatest success was the fight against myself. Stage or not TOP 5 or Top 10 that doesn't interest anyone after 2 hours. The most important thing here is the fight against yourself, to push yourself to your limits, to get the best out of yourself in order to be able to get involved at the top one day.

5. Ambition and discipline are, as you wrote in your motto, important characteristics to be successful as a fitness athlete. Give us an insight into how you organize your daily routine.

The day usually starts around 6:30 in the morning. With the first meal and a good one Protein shake. Then I go to work at 9 a.m., where I usually work until 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. During this time I eat my pre-cooked meals 2-4. At 7:30 p.m. I do the first training session. After training is before training. In the evening the meals are freshly cooked for the next day. At 11:30 p.m. I finally made it. Most of the time, 6 ½ hours of sleep is enough for me to regenerate.

6. What is your training like? Can you give us a brief overview of the breakdown as well as exercises, sets and repetitions?

The exercises and the reduction sets vary depending on the plan and season. I like to exercise hard in my diet too. Only those who train hard can build quality muscle mass.

7. How do you calculate your calorie consumption and the optimal amount of nutrients you need to consume for an athletic physique with toned muscles and very little body fat? Do you keep a log of your meals and the calories and nutrients consumed?

I only track my values ​​in the diet. In the off season I eat most of the time clean, but now and then treat myself to something sweet or fatty. I calculate the calorie consumption depending on the goal. It is important not to worry too much about whether you are 10g too much or 10g too little Protein the important thing is to get started!

8. What are your next goals?

First and foremost, I am currently preparing for the GNBF 2016. Furthermore, I am looking for a German sponsorwho accompanies me on my way there.

9. How did you manage to get a contract with Scitec Nutrition?

Through my current Instagram account (bilo_young) I received a request from England whether I would be interested in joining the Scitec Nutrition team as an amateur athlete. However, you have to select here. Professional / amateur. Most amateurs don't get full sponsorship. That means mostly just merchandising, no supplements etc.
